Water Tone

This installation represents the peaceful underwater sounds and surface of the water, but the issue of e-waste is firmly connected behind the installation with junk fans and the sea view.

As the integration rate of semiconductors becomes finer and finer every year, new models of PCs and smartphones are released every year, each claiming a few percent improvement in specifications. Many of the electronic devices eliminated by this bizarre trend of the times are not recycled but become electronic waste, exported to Southeast Asian and African countries and buried in landfills. It is doubtful how many people are aware of this fact, although we ourselves are involved in this process. In this way, we are reusing technologies that have fallen by the wayside, while at the same time creating a world that is superficially visible, a reality that exists at a deeper level, and a social structure that is made up of the two sides of the same coin. By reproducing the contradictory spaces of the real world in miniature, we will create a place where people can feel the difference between their perception and reality as if they were looking down on it while coming and going.
